Frequently asked questions
Where can I print large print word searches for free?
You can make and print them free on this page, with no sign-up: choose a theme or type your own words, pick the letter size, and print with an answer key.
What font size is best for seniors with low vision?
Large print guidelines, such as those from the American Council of the Blind, recommend at least 18-point type. Our Large setting prints at about 18 to 26 points, and Extra large and Jumbo go bigger on smaller grids.
Are word searches good for people with dementia?
Many families and activity staff use simple word searches as a calm, enjoyable activity, but there is no strong evidence that they prevent or slow dementia. Choose easy puzzles with short, familiar words and adjust to the person.
How do I print a word search with the answer key?
Click "Print / Save as PDF": the puzzle prints on page 1 and the answer key on page 2, sized for US Letter. Choose "Save as PDF" as the printer to get a file.
What do easy, medium and hard mean?
Easy hides words across and down only, medium adds diagonals, and hard uses every direction including backwards.
Is my word list stored anywhere?
No. The puzzle is created in your browser, and your words are not sent to our server.
